Aunt Michele

This just made my whole year.

My aunt Michele saw on Facebook that I had become enamored with a project she has been working on. It was a 'Weather blanket.'

It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen - I was perplexed by the thought and idea of it.

It's a blanket that has 365 rows, each row is a certain color, which is determined by the high temperature of an area (or city) for the day.

So basically take the weather data, for an area, for a year, and then present that data as a blanket.

Yeah. Brilliant idea, and it was executed immaculately. She made one representing the city she lives in.

I was asking all kinds of questions about it, just fascinated by her work (as usual, she's an amazing artist.) How does the schema work? What color represents what? Do the columns represent anything? I was going crazy asking questions. On and on...

So she says she's gonna send me some info about the project that I was so infatuated with. Asks for my address...

Two days later I get a package in the mail.

Little did I know, she has been tracking the weather in Colorado Springs - where I live, as well as the weather where she lives, in Texas, in order to make a gift for one of her family members that lives here in CO.

She chose me because I was so interested in her project and I'm honestly kinda shook right now -

She made a scarf using the weather of Colorado Springs as a template. And sent it to me.

What an absolutely precious gift. So much work, dedication, discipline, and just pure devotion was obviously poured into this scarf.

When I think of things that I own, that have sentimental value to me, 4 out of my top 5 have come from Michele. Paintings, hoodies, scarves... Such a wonderful Aunt.

I cried my eyes out when I saw it. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Thanks Michele - I will cherish this scarf forever.
